WhatsApp Sales
WhatsApp Sales is Hexagon's workspace product for a business that wants an assistant to answer shoppers and help them purchase. It uses the business's store, reviewed sales rules and approved messaging connection. The product identifier in the public setup API is sales_v3.
Milo on WhatsApp is a different starting point: a person messages Milo to work with their own tasks and authorized accounts. Messaging Milo's number does not create a business Sales deployment or connect a store.
Choose the store experience
| Store connection | Customer experience |
|---|---|
| Public website | The assistant reads available public pages and gives the shopper an observed link to finish checkout on the store's website. |
| Shopify store link | Public catalog and store checkout links, when this mode is available for the workspace. |
| Authorized Shopify app or supported commerce integration | Store data and commerce actions depend on the integration, permissions and the workspace's completed launch checks. |
Public website mode does not grant private stock, customer or order access. It does not collect card details or complete a purchase for the shopper. A provider listed in Integrations may support credential verification or catalog import while selling remains unavailable. Read Store connections before choosing a path.
What you need
Start at WhatsApp Sales setup. Select the business workspace you intend to use. A workspace owner or administrator manages setup and activation.
Prepare the store address or authorized integration, reviewed business instructions, and the WhatsApp Business connection offered by setup. Complete the current billing requirements for that workspace. Store access, messaging authorization, billing and activation are separate steps; completing one does not complete the others.
The setup page shows the requirements that are ready, missing, blocked or waiting for confirmation. Availability comes from those checks. A saved draft or a successful provider sign-in does not mean the assistant is live.
Start with one customer journey
For an initial check, choose a real product and a straightforward question, such as which size or variant is available. Review the source of the answer and where the checkout link leads. With an integrated store, separately check any supported shipping, discount or order behavior rather than assuming every connected platform supplies the same functions.
After explicit activation is confirmed, open the business's WhatsApp link and inspect the resulting conversation in the workspace. Use Conversations and orders to distinguish a reply, a checkout link, an accepted payment and a confirmed order.
Product and billing boundaries
Sales billing uses the workspace's accepted outcome agreement or an existing prepaid agreement. A Milo subscription does not activate Sales, and a saved payment card does not establish a funded balance or accepted agreement. Review the exact terms and owner action shown in setup or billing.
The public API also describes an optional iMessage channel for eligible Sales workspaces. It requires a dedicated assigned line, explicit owner connection consent and supported website mode. It is not created by using Milo's number or by changing an already-bound WhatsApp channel. Use only the options shown as available for your workspace.
