# Recurring work and ongoing goals

Define a repeatable task, its boundaries and the evidence of success.

Recurring work repeats a defined task. An ongoing goal describes an outcome that may require follow-up over time. Milo can work from authorized routines and ongoing goals. Availability and configuration depend on your account and enabled tools.

Start by making the task work once before relying on repetition.

## Write the operating brief

Include the source, timing or trigger, expected output, destination and review boundary. Also say what should happen when information is missing.

> I want a weekly project brief. Use the current project notes, summarize completed work and blockers, and identify each next owner. Prepare it for my review on Friday morning in Pacific time. If a source is unavailable, flag the gap.

This is an example specification. Confirm that the requested schedule and delivery are supported and configured before treating the routine as active.

## Define what success means

For a recurring brief, success might mean accurate dates and owners, complete source coverage and delivery before a review meeting. For a follow-up goal, success may depend on a customer response or a completed action in another system.

Choose a result you can inspect.

## Review and adjust

Check the first outputs carefully. Look for stale records, repeated work, missing owners and actions outside the intended scope. Update the instructions when the process changes.

Keep the person responsible for the routine clear. When the task is no longer needed, use the available routine controls and verify its state. A message describing a desired routine is not proof that the recurring work has been configured.
