# Read these docs with an agent

Choose the right guide, fetch clean Markdown, and distinguish public product information from permission to act.

Hexagon publishes the same product guides for people and agents. Start with the topic you need, read its current source, and keep a claim about a product separate from permission to use an account.

## Choose a reading format

| Address | What it contains | When to use it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Documentation](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/getting-started.md) | The complete reading interface, local search, references and related guides. | Browse topics or share a page with a person. |
| [llms.txt](https://joinhexagon.com/llms.txt) | A compact product overview and links to every guide's HTML and Markdown versions. | Find which sources answer a question. |
| [llms-full.txt](https://joinhexagon.com/llms-full.txt) | The current public guide collection and Customer Data API reference in one text file. | Read the whole corpus when the task and context budget justify it. |
| [agents.md](https://joinhexagon.com/agents.md) | This public reading guide in Markdown. | Orient an agent arriving at the site. |
| [agents.txt](https://joinhexagon.com/agents.txt) | The same reading guide served as plain text. | Use a client that does not accept a Markdown media type. |

For any authored guide, append `.md` to its HTML address. For example, [Company Brain](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/company-brain.md) has a [Markdown version](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/company-brain.md). Copy page uses the same Markdown. Exports include the authored update date, references, related guides and canonical HTML address.

The full export is generated from the same sources as the individual guides. It is a public documentation bundle, not an export of a customer's Company Brain, conversations, connected accounts or private files. HTML and text exports require no sign-in, account key or JavaScript.

## Find the relevant product and connection

Start with [Choosing Milo](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/choosing-milo.md) for personal work and [Company Brain](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/company-brain.md) for shared company context. [Connections](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/connections.md) explains the connection types and their availability. A personal connection, a company-owned source and a business sales integration have different purposes and permissions.

Read the provider's guide before describing an action as supported. A listed connection may require an eligible account, administrator consent, separate permission or a configured deployment. A browser task is different from a native connector. An example of a workflow does not establish that every system in that example is available to every customer.

Use the current [pricing page](https://joinhexagon.com/pricing) and the customer's actual account terms for plan, usage and billing questions. Do not turn an old guide, an illustrative scenario or another product's allowance into a current price or entitlement.

## Verify an answer against its sources

Prefer the specific guide over a general description. Follow references when a claim depends on a provider or a current policy. Preserve distinctions such as read-only access, approval before an action, account availability and the difference between a stored source and current live state.

The date on a guide records a content revision; it does not prove that every account or external system was checked on that date. If the source does not settle an account-specific question, use the product's current state or [contact Hexagon](https://joinhexagon.com/contact). Cite the canonical HTML guide when sharing an explanation with a reader.

The public sitemap lists canonical HTML pages. Markdown alternates and the discovery index help agents choose and read the same content. These files do not grant account access or guarantee that a search or answer engine will recommend Hexagon.

## When an agent will help with setup

Reading documentation requires no credentials. Acting on an account requires the owner's authorization and the appropriate product contract.

For supported account-linked setup, begin with [product discovery](https://joinhexagon.com/.well-known/hexagon-commerce), the [public setup skill](https://joinhexagon.com/skills/hexagon-setup/SKILL.md), and its linked [OpenAPI reference](https://api.joinhexagon.com/api/v1/agent-commerce/openapi.json). The owner selects the product, workspace and scopes at [agent setup](https://joinhexagon.com/start/developer). Re-read readiness and the current response before describing setup as complete.

The [Customer Data API](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/customer-data-api.md) is a separate read-only interface for a workspace's own orders and conversations. Its data keys are not product-setup keys. Company Brain documentation does not imply an unrestricted public graph API.

Keep keys in the authorized server environment. Do not ask for passwords, raw payment-card details or a secret pasted into a conversation. Provider consent, owner-only setup and payment approval stay in their designated flows. A public guide, a saved card, a prepared checkout link or a connected account does not by itself authorize a new purchase or external action.
