# Your first task

Go from signing in to a useful result you can check.

Start with a small task whose result you can verify. A draft or brief is a useful first choice because you can check the sources and refine the output before taking the next action.

## 1. Open Milo

Use [Start free](https://joinhexagon.com/login?mode=signup&product=milo) to create or sign into your Hexagon account. If you already use Milo, return to the [web app](https://app.joinhexagon.com).

Use your existing account when continuing work so you return to the right history and settings.

## 2. Provide the context

You can begin with information you provide in the conversation. If the task needs connected data, authorize the relevant account through its provider flow and review the permissions requested. See [Connections](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/connections.md).

For your first task, choose a document or conversation you know well. That makes it easier to judge whether the answer is complete.

## 3. Ask for a specific result

> Using the notes below, prepare a one-page project update. Include completed work, open questions, each next step and its owner. Flag missing dates instead of guessing. Prepare the draft for my review.

Include the notes, the intended audience and any deadline. Keep the first request focused on one deliverable.

## 4. Check and refine

Compare names, dates, commitments and amounts with the original information. Ask Milo to explain any conclusion you cannot trace.

> The launch date is a target until Operations approves it. Revise the update to keep that condition visible.
