# Google Analytics

Read traffic, sessions, sources and conversion reporting from your authorized Google Analytics property.

Connect Google Analytics when Milo needs to answer questions about website or app traffic. Name the property, date range and metric so the answer can be checked against the same report in Analytics.

## Connect the reporting account

Choose **Google Analytics** in **Connections**, then authorize the Google account that can access the property. Analytics uses its own additional read-only permission. An existing Google sign-in, Gmail connection or Search Console connection does not imply Analytics access.

Availability can depend on Google's authorization requirements for the additional scope. If the connection cannot be authorized for your account, contact [support](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/troubleshooting.md). Your Analytics administrator may also need to grant access to the property.

## Specify the report

> In our website property, compare sessions by source and medium for the last complete week with the previous week. Separate direct traffic, show the property and dates, and explain any missing dimensions.

For a property with several streams, identify the website or stream you mean. Ask Milo to preserve the distinction between users, sessions, events and conversions instead of treating them as interchangeable counts.

## What this connection changes

The Analytics grant is read-only: it supplies reporting data, rather than permission to create streams, change tags or alter property settings. Reporting freshness and any data restrictions come from Google Analytics.

A source label alone does not prove that a visitor was an AI agent. Keep controlled tests separate from independent referrals when evaluating discovery.
