# Company connections

Configure shared company sources and understand who can read what Milo learns.

Company connections supply material for shared Company Brain learning. They are separate from the accounts you connect for your own tasks. A personal mailbox, private Slack conversation or individual CRM connection does not automatically become shared company knowledge.

## Who can configure a source

Open your company's **Connections** tab in Milo. Company members can see source status; company administrators manage connections. Being a provider administrator and being a Milo company administrator are separate roles, and some setups need both.

Use the source card's current state. A credential being accepted, a source being connected and a successful learning run are different milestones. The page shows the latest read and any problem it can identify.

## Slack

Add Milo to your company's Slack workspace through the company setup. If Slack requires approval, complete that process before expecting a connection. A submitted installation request is still waiting until the app is actually installed and the company connection is complete.

In the current company setup, Milo learns from public channels where it is a member. Remove Milo from a channel to stop new learning from there. Some existing configurations retain an explicit channel selection; follow the controls shown for your company.

Private conversations and external shared channels should not be assumed to feed company knowledge. [Personal Slack](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/slack.md#personal-slack) is a separate grant for your own DMs and private channels.

## Microsoft Teams

Where company Teams setup is available, add Milo to the team that includes everyone in your company, then have a company administrator name that team in the company Connections tab. Confirm the choice carefully: the self-service flow does not let you replace it afterward.

The named team's membership determines who can receive its company memory. **Named** is not the same as **Connected**; the card reports when company memory is active. A company already configured around Slack cannot independently add a Teams company-memory team through this flow.

Learning channel history also needs the supported Microsoft Graph installation and consent. When enabled, it is limited to standard channels in the named team. Private and shared channels are excluded from this company-learning source. Without that capability, Milo receives addressed messages and direct messages rather than a general channel-history feed.

## Google Drive

The company Drive card requires a verified company Google domain and an available company connection. Choose **Connect** and either **I'm the Google admin** or **Ask my Google admin**.

A Google Workspace super administrator grants domain-wide delegation through **Security → Access and data control → API controls → Manage domain-wide delegation** in the Google Admin console. Copy the current client ID and complete scope list from Milo's setup card. Then finish the connection using an active Workspace address on the company's verified domain. That address must also be a member of each shared drive Milo should read. A connection can succeed while exposing no shared drives, so check the result and add the reader to the intended drives if needed.

The company source learns from eligible shared-drive files that everyone in the required company domains can open. Private files or files shared with only selected people are not made company-wide simply because the administrator authorized delegation. The card explains which Slack or Teams members can read what the company learns; review that audience before connecting.

For an eligible company using Google Workspace alone with access based on one company domain, the delegated setup can also supply Google Chat spaces open to the whole organization. The delegated reader must belong to each space. Restricted spaces, spaces allowing external users, group chats and DMs are excluded. This is separate from the [Google Chat app conversation](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/google-chat.md), which receives messages directed to Milo.

## Linear and Granola

Use the company source card to enter an authorized API key. Milo checks the source before saving the connection.

- **Linear:** the company source needs public teams. A personal connection that reaches private issues is not equivalent to this shared source.
- **Granola:** company learning uses shared folders. Review what those folders expose to the company before connecting.

A valid key with no suitable source is not a successful learning setup. Follow the card's explanation if there is no public team, access is refused or the provider cannot be reached.

## Shopify

Create a Shopify custom-app Admin API token for shared product learning. It must include `read_products`, use read-only scopes and omit customer access such as `read_customers`. Enter the token and store address in the company's Shopify card.

The company connection rejects tokens with store-write or customer-read access. This source learns the catalog; it does not enable a Sales store or share private customer records. See [Shopify](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/shopify.md) and [Sales store connections](https://joinhexagon.com/docs/sales-store-connections.md) for those separate uses.

## Review and disconnect

After setup, check the last successful read and ask a question about a known shared source. Follow its citation and verify the audience. Source reads can be periodic and limited; a connected card is not a promise that all historical information has already been learned.

Disconnecting stops future reading through that source. What Milo already learned remains in company memory. Request correction or deletion separately when that is your intent; do not use disconnect as a substitute.
